I am a member of several
Boston Terrier forums, and have been asked for pictures of my puppers.
On this page, you will see my posts to those forums. Someone
told me that it might be a good idea to put them on my website too,
so here they are...

Guess where I am???
At the e-vet with
Penny. Apparently, she couldn't wait another 4 hours to go to
my regular vet's office, so now I get to pay twice as much for
her c-section. LOL. Oh well, as long as she's fine and the puppies
are healthy too. What more can I ask? Keep her in your thoughts
and prayers please. I'll keep you updated...

Penny's uterus ruptured. Still at e-vet, trying to
stabilize Penny. 3 girls.

It was touch and go with Penny for awhile as her
uterus ruptured down by her bladder. It was very nasty and vet
said her "uterine matter was seeping all over" and that it was
a life threatening issue that needed immediate attention. He
let me come in the back and help with the puppies as he had
to turn his focus to Penny. He had her and worked on her for
nearly 1.5 hours before finishing up. He did the repair and
then had trouble stabilizing her. They couldn't get her temperature
up (it was 93). After another 30-40 minutes, she stabilized
and we stayed for a bit longer to make sure the puppies nursed
and she maintained her stability.
Everyone is eating
(even Penny a little bit). This is the only pic I have right
now. I've had ZERO sleep since Sat night, so I'm going to try
to get some rest.

Who believes in Karma?
Well, you know what
they say....What Goes Around, Comes Around, right?
Meet Karma....ChriMaso's What Goes Around
And we all know
that You Get What You Deserve....eventually, don't you agree?
Meet Desi....ChriMaso's You Get What You Deserve
Sorry... the head pic was so blurry, it hurt my eyes...hehehe,
but fear not...I'm sure there will be PLENTY of pics in the
coming days and weeks.
So, the bottom line is that everything has a Cause And Effect,
at least that's the way it supposedly works, huh?
Meet CAE (pronounced Kay)...ChriMaso's Cause And
Effect
Everyone is doing well. Karma weighs in at 8-1/8 oz, Desi is
8-3/8, and fatty CAE is 9-1/8. Penny is doing so much better
as well. Yeah. Poor thing...it was hard for me to concentrate
on the puppies when I was so worried about her.

Karma...is it really all it's cracked up to be?
Ummm, I think so....at
least THIS kind of Karma is certainly all I could have hoped
for!
In case you've forgotten, we have Karma -
ChriMaso's What Goes Around, Desi - ChriMaso's You Get
What You Deserve, and CAE - ChriMaso's Cause
And Effect.
And since Karma
is basically "you reap what you sow", I am blessing you with
pics because y'all have blessed me with your support, encouragement,
and love, so it's my turn to give it back, in the form of pictures...
Desi says: Pssst Mom - Wanna hear a secret?
Penny says: Is
that you Karma? Yes, it smells like you...
Is that you CAE?
Yes, it tastes like you...
Here's Desi's
head shot (I didn't include one before because it was soooooo
blurry).
Someone had asked
for a visual to help show the size of a newborn Boston puppy,
so I'm holding a soda can next to Desi in this picture. These
puppies are all a little big though. The smallest (Karma) was
8-1/8 oz and the largest was CAE at 9-1/8 oz at birth.
Karma gets some
mommy snuggles....

What do you get when you cross Karma with milk buds?
Why comatose puppies
butts, of course!!!
CAE ate so much, she couldn't even
move away from the milk bar...she just crashed right where she
was (at least Karma came up for air...).
After eating AGAIN,
CAE and Karma had to stretch out (probably to make more room
for even MORE milk....)
Desi thought she'd
just sleep on her tummy, like a normal puppy...
But, then she
changed her mind and decided to sleep on her back.
I think Karma
thought Desi looked so comfy on her back, she decided to give
it a try too...
You can practically
read Penny's mind here, "Geez...don't these little buggers EVER
stop eating????"
Nursing is hard
work and deserves a good nap.
Okay, let's ALL
take a nap.
But, let's spread
out a bit....
They may eat a
lot...and make me tired...but they're still MINE!!!!

How much does Karma weigh?
Well, I don't know
how much spiritual karma weighs, but my sweet Karma weighs just
a smidgen under 15 oz!!!
Next up is Desi,
who likes to sleep when being weighed. She's 15 oz even.
And CAE, of course,
is the Amazon at 18-1/2 oz (OVER A POUND!!!) already. Apparently,
if she can't eat it, then she'll pass out on it....
They're really just eating and sleeping
blobs right now, but what precious little blobs they are! hehehe
Of course, I could be slightly partial.... LOL
Karma
loves to sleep on her mommy. On her rear legs...
On her rear feet....
On her butt...
Penny's a proud
momma...
You have no idea
how much time I spend just watching them sleep....

The Eye of Karma...
probably doesn't
really "see" you, but it's still cute to look at. Karma opened
her eyes today. Aren't they cute????
Desi has tiny
little slivers starting to show through, but CAE is hold hers
tightly closed. She doesn't want to see...just eat and sleep....hehehehe

Karma Litter - 1 week pics
Okay, so the Karma
litter puppies turned one week old on Monday. I took pictures,
but didn't resize and upload to Photobucket until last night.
They are really growing like crazy!!!!
What started out
as 8-1/8 to 9-1/8 oz puppies have grown to 15 to 18 oz Amazonian
puppehs!!! hehehe
They are following the normal pattern
of development with Karma who opened her eyes on Monday, Desi
who opened her eyes last night/this morning, and CAE who could
care less about seeing....again, if she can't eat it, she prefers
to just sleep on it. lol
The three of them snuggling
together - can you guess which one is which?
Karma - just observing
her surroundings with her newly opened eyes
Desi - just minding
her own business
CAE - her royal
blobness in her usual milk coma
And her smooshy face too
Karma using Desi
as a pillow
Penny using Desi
as a pillow
Desi kissing momma
Karma kissing momma too
CAE doing what
CAE does best...
Which, of course,
wipes poor Penny out...
And just because
it was too cute...PUPPY TOES!!!!

How do you know if you or your peeps have good
Karma?
Why....by the puppy
hair!!!!
I couldn't resist taking some Easter-themed
pics of the puppies. They are still little porkers with very
little "real" movement going on. lol But obviously, they have
no problems scooting to the milk bar!!!
First born is
Karma and her peeps. Isn't she cute with her little peepers
open also?
Second born is
Desi and her pretty little peeps. And her peepers are definitely
open now.
Last born, but
still just as sweet and cute with her peeps is CAE. Her peepers
are FINALLY open as well. Yeah!
They'll be two
weeks old tomorrow, so check back.... hehehehe

The Karma litter is two
weeks old, so how do they celebrate?
They were not very
impressed....
CAE couldn't be
bothered....it only bored her to tears...so should I say bored
her so much that she started yawning like crazy!!!
Desi was even less impressed about becoming
2 weeks old. She yawned so big, she almost tipped over...
Fortunately, Karma was a bit kinder to me
and simply gave me a little raspberry.....
Then... they promptly blew me off and did
something that was much more interesting to them....SLEEP!!!
How much do these little cubbos weigh, you
ask????
Karma, who used to the the smallest is now the
middle-sized piggy at 22.9 oz and Desi who used to be the middle
piggy, is now the smallest porker at 25.5 oz. And do I even
need to say that the Miss CAE keeps the title of gumbo piggy
at nearly TWO POUNDS (30-5/8 oz)???? hehehehe

What's cuter than 4 week old Karma?
Ummm, nothing that
I can think of...Here they are, fat and sassy. The Karma litter
turned 4 weeks this past Monday. I weighed them and took pics,
but just got around to uploading them and posting them.
First up is CAE. And talk about fat AND sassy - she weighs
in at 3.25 lbs at 4 weeks of age. Little porker, but oh my gosh....look
at this face...
Second up is Desi.
She's the petite one at 2.485 lbs. hehehe But again....don't
you just want to pinch those cheeks????
And lastly is
Karma. She's firstborn, but the middle weight at 2.675 lbs.
Who wouldn't love a face like as precious as this...
I tried to get
stacked pictures, but it's pretty tough doing it by myself.
LOL But, don't laugh... at least I tried!
Karma is trying
to be good...
Desi wouldn't
work with me at all...Either that or she thinks she's a German
Shepherd Dog....
CAE told me NO
WAY...
Karma thinks I'm
an idiot and is probably flipping me off in the only way she
knows how...
I love Karma's
profile here.
Desi's profile
is lovely too.
CAE wouldn't stay
still long enough for me to get her profile. She's just a wiggly
little girl.
Now comes the fun part... PLAY PICTURES!!!!
Karma getting ready to attack her zebraball.
Yummmm, mmmmm,
yuuuummmmmmyyyyy - this zebra ball tastes delicious!!!
HEY - you took
my zebra ball!!! GIVE IT BACK!
What is out there?
Hmmm, I think
Desi tastes better than the zebra ball!
Desi says "Karma
- you're a freak! Leave me alone!"
CAE and Desi are
running out of steam...
Whoa! Playing
is hard work. Now we're tired! (And, so is Penny....)
Okay, it's bedtime...we're
beat and have no more energy!
Monday, they'll
be five weeks, so be on the lookout for them next week!
05-10-2009, 11:10pm
6 weeks stacked Karma pics
Okay, I admit these
are HORRIBLE pictures, but they are better than nothing....kinda....
lol
I have been a terrible show momo and haven't worked
with them at all, so this was their first attempt at a "real"
stack; unfortunately, none of them had ANY interest in stacking
at all.
Karma is first up.
Next is Desi.
She isn't actually so straight in stifle...I promise! lol My
photographer took the picture right before I released her so
she's still practically being held up and was almost just "hanging".
lol
Last is little
miss fatty girl, CAE. I wasn't even ready, but hey, I wasn't
the photographer, so it is what it is. lol
After seeing the
above pics, I thought I'd try it again, so started with Karma
again...As you can see, she said NOOOOOO!!!! lol
So, rather than
subjecting them to my cruel attempts at pre-show training, I
decided to play and kiss them instead! LOL

Karma kids at 8 weeks!
So, this Memorial Day weekend
was a very busy one for the ChriMaso crew! We had first vaccines
for the Karma litter on Friday, dog shows Saturday through Monday,
health testing on Saturday and Sunday, and 8 week evaluations
of the Karma litter on Saturday also. Whew!!!
I reported
how we did in the shows and the test results in another thread,
so thought I would share some of the photos taken during the
evaluations (THANK YOU KAREN!!!!). They weren't exactly 8 weeks
old, but they are today, so it was within the 3 day variance
commonly recommended.
There were a total of six of us
who participated in the evaluation (five are Boston breeders
and one is a breeder of another breed, but all but one of us
have shown/bred other breeds as well).
Evaluators included:
Jamey (Sage Hill Kennels) – Showed and bred Australian Shepherds
before Bostons
Me (ChriMaso Boston Terriers) – Showed
and bred Great Danes before transitioning to Bostons
Valerie (Secret Valley Boston Terriers) – Shows/breeds Boston
Terriers only
Patti (Ooops…Jamey, I don’t know her kennel
name…) – Shows and breeds Great Danes and has shown/bred sporting
breeds in the past as well
Joe (MeJo Boston Terriers)
– Shows and breeds Chihuahuas, Border Terriers, Tibetan Terriers
and Bostons (previously Australian Shepherds as well) – he is
a professional handler, so has shown a variety of other breeds
and AS judge
Meryl (MeJo Boston Terriers) – Is Joe’s
wife. She has the same qualifications as Joe.
Our thoughts/observations
were very consistent with minimal disagreement/opposing opinions,
so that was excellent. I really like to try to keep from being
kennel blind and having other breeders go over each puppy and
evaluate it honestly, really helps me keep focused and hopefully,
more open minded and honest about my own breeding.
Since
I do everything in order of birth, we will start with Karma.
Here’s her cute little face (and mine behind hers…hehehe).
Her eyes are actually quite round, but she’s squinting because
of the sun. It was a glorious, sunny weekend!
And now Karma’s front – as you can see,
she’s not terribly thrilled with being stacked.
Lastly, her side profile (please ignore
Meryl’s hand in the picture…she likes to point things out as
she’s going over a dog):
Next up is Desi, the second born puppy.
Here is a picture of her head.
And her front. I didn’t get her set up correctly,
but hey… she’s a puppy! Lol
Now, her side profile (again… excuse Meryl’s
hand).
And another side profile with Meryl feeling
the shoulders to see if the width and layback are correct.
Since Karma and Desi are so close in structure,
we thought we’d try stacking them together so the evaluators
could look at them simultaneously. What a JOKE that was….hehehe
In this one, I’m semi-successful in getting Karma set, but Jamey
is struggling with Desi.
Here’s one where both Desi and Karma are
ALMOST set, but Karma is starting to get a little irritated
with the whole stacking thing..
Here’s Jamey with Desi ALMOST set up and
Karma bucking like a bronco, so I couldn’t get her set up…
Yeah!!! Jamey FINALLY got Desi set up,
but by that time Karma was “DONE” and I couldn’t get her set
up at all. LOL
Last up is CAE. Here is her face; isn’t
she ADORABLE?????
And here is CAE’s front. She is a good sport,
but wasn’t excited about the whole stacking business…
Ahhh, poor CAE…she really did NOT want to
stand still… and I promise, I was NOT pinching!!!
In summary, at this point in time (and YES,
it can still change…) Karma and Desi are show potentials and
CAE is a fabulous companion.
